THE BRIDGE (OR BRIDGE) OF CERAMIC CROWNS

IT ALLOWS TO REPLACE A GROUP OF MISSING TEETH ON NATURAL TEETH AS WELL AS ON DENTAL IMPLANTS

Cosmetic ceramic dental bridges are cemented onto natural teeth or dental implants to replace a group of missing teeth.

Aesthetic dental prosthesis replacing a series of contiguous teeth is called a “ceramic bridge”. This bridge consists of a succession of ceramic crowns bonded to each other. The framework of the bridge is its skeleton and allows its rigidity. It can be made of metal or zirconia.

The cosmetic ceramic bridge allows for a “bridge with a series of crowns” that restores and replaces contiguous missing teeth by resting on the remaining proximal teeth. This implies that a series of teeth are the pillars of this bridge.

This series of teeth must necessarily be closed at the ends of the “crown bridge”. This means that at least one tooth is needed at each end of the bridge. The remaining teeth, in the middle of the bridge, are the intermediate pillars of the bridge. They allow the anchoring and stability of the prosthesis”.

Here is an example of a total reconstruction of the incisor block with Smile design using an aesthetic ceramic bridge with a false gum on dental implants:

A bridge made of four ceramic crowns, welded together, replaced the missing teeth. they are fixed on four dental implants.

The four dental implants were previously placed to replace the four roots of the teeth of the smile: the four incisors whose roots were rhytized following too violent and repeated orthodontic treatments.

In this case, the patient had a smile that exposed part of her gum, as is often the case.

Bone height loss was significant.

It would have been extremely ugly to see the cervical limits of the bridge crowns abnormally extended to his true gum line. With our ceramist (dental technician having oriented his art in dental aesthetics) we proceeded to an analysis of the smile of this young woman.

The Smile design that was decided upon consists of adding a pink, gingival-colored cosmetic ceramic false gum to the cosmetic ceramic crowns.

This Smile design technique allows the reconstruction of the natural scalloping of the gums, as well as the interdental papillae that have disappeared following the removal of the four incisors.
